Fake Madgicx Plus and SocialMetrics Extensions Are Hijacking Meta Business Accounts

Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed two new campaigns that are serving fake browser extensions using malicious ads and fake websites to steal sensitive data. The malvertising campaign, per Bitdefender, is designed to push fake "Meta Verified" browser extensions named SocialMetrics Pro that claim to unlock the blue check badge for Facebook and Instagram profiles. At least 37 malicious ads

AsyncRAT Exploits ConnectWise ScreenConnect to Steal Credentials and Crypto

Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed details of a new campaign that leverages ConnectWise ScreenConnect, a legitimate Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software, to deliver a fleshless loader that drops a remote access trojan (RAT) called AsyncRAT to steal sensitive data from compromised hosts. "The attacker used ScreenConnect to gain remote access, then executed a layered VBScript and

GHSA-r4h8-hfp2-ggmf: Hoverfly is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution through an insecure middleware implementation

### Summary It has been discovered that the middleware functionality in Hoverfly is vulnerable to command injection through its `/api/v2/hoverfly/middleware` endpoint due to insufficient validation and sanitization in user input. ### Details The vulnerability exists in the middleware management API endpoint `/api/v2/hoverfly/middleware`. This issue is born due to combination of three code level flaws: 1. Insufficient Input Validation in [middleware.go line 94-96](https://github.com/SpectoLabs/hoverfly/blob/master/core/middleware/middleware.go#L93): ``` func (this *Middleware) SetBinary(binary string) error { this.Binary = binary // No validation of binary parameter here return nil } ``` 2. Unsafe Command Execution in [local_middleware.go line 14-19](https://github.com/SpectoLabs/hoverfly/blob/master/core/middleware/local_middleware.go#L13): ``` var middlewareCommand *exec.Cmd if this.Script == nil { middlewareCommand = exec.Command(this.Binary) // User-controlled b...

Microsoft Fixes 80 Flaws — Including SMB PrivEsc and Azure CVSS 10.0 Bugs

Microsoft on Tuesday addressed a set of 80 security flaws in its software, including one vulnerability that has been disclosed as publicly known at the time of release. Of the 80 vulnerabilities, eight are rated Critical and 72 are rated Important in severity. None of the shortcomings has been exploited in the wild as a zero-day. Like last month, 38 of the disclosed flaws are related to

GHSA-rf24-wg77-gq7w: listmonk: CSRF to XSS Chain can Lead to Admin Account Takeover

### Summary Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) is an attack that forces an end user to execute unwanted actions on a web application in which they’re currently authenticated. With a little help of social engineering (such as sending a link via email or chat), an attacker may trick the users of a web application into executing actions of the attacker’s choosing. If the victim is a normal user, a successful CSRF attack can force the user to perform state changing requests like transferring funds, changing their email address, and so forth. If the victim is an administrative account, CSRF can compromise the entire web application. ### Details During a security evaluation of the webapp, every http request in addition to the session cookie `session` there included `nonce`. The value is not checked and validated by the backend, removing `nonce` allows the requests to be processed correctly. This may seem harmless, but if chained to other vulnerabilities it can become a critical vulnerabi...

New Docker Malware Strain Spotted Blocking Rivals on Exposed APIs

Akamai finds new Docker malware blocking rivals on exposed APIs, replacing cryptominers with tools that hint at early botnet development.

TOR-Based Cryptojacking Attack Expands Through Misconfigured Docker APIs

Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a variant of a recently disclosed campaign that abuses the TOR network for cryptojacking attacks targeting exposed Docker APIs. Akamai, which discovered the latest activity last month, said it's designed to block other actors from accessing the Docker API from the internet. The findings build on a prior report from Trend Micro in late June 2025, which
