A technical overview of Cisco Talos' investigations into Google Cloud Platform Cloud Build, and the threat surface posed by the storage permission family.
New research highlights how bad actors could abuse deleted AWS S3 buckets to create all sorts of mayhem, including a SolarWinds-style supply chain attack.
The ABB Cylon FLXeon BACnet controller is vulnerable to authenticated remote root code execution via the /api/users/password endpoint. An attacker with valid credentials can inject arbitrary system commands by manipulating the newPassword PUT parameter. The issue arises in users.js, where the new password is hashed and improperly escaped before being passed to ChildProcess.exec() within a usermod command, allowing out of band (blind) command injection.

### Impact `ssl::select_next_proto` can return a slice pointing into the `server` argument's buffer but with a lifetime bound to the `client` argument. In situations where the `server` buffer's lifetime is shorter than the `client` buffer's, this can cause a use after free. This could cause the server to crash or to return arbitrary memory contents to the client. ### Patches `openssl` 0.10.70 fixes the signature of `ssl::select_next_proto` to properly constrain the output buffer's lifetime to that of both input buffers. ### Workarounds In standard usage of `ssl::select_next_proto` in the callback passed to `SslContextBuilder::set_alpn_select_callback`, code is only affected if the `server` buffer is constructed *within* the callback. For example: Not vulnerable - the server buffer has a `'static` lifetime: ```rust builder.set_alpn_select_callback(|_, client_protos| { ssl::select_next_proto(b"\x02h2", client_protos).ok_or_else(AlpnError::NOACK) }); ``` Not vulnerable - the serve...
# Summary Django-Unicorn is vulnerable to python class pollution vulnerability, a new type of vulnerability categorized under [CWE-915](https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/915.html). The vulnerability arises from the core functionality `set_property_value`, which can be remotely triggered by users by crafting appropriate component requests and feeding in values of second and third parameter to the vulnerable function, leading to arbitrary changes to the python runtime status. With this finding, so far we've found at least five ways of vulnerability exploitation, stably resulting in Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Denial of Service (DoS), and Authentication Bypass attacks in almost every Django-Unicorn-based application. # Analysis of Vulnerable Function By taking a look at the vulnerable function `set_property_value` located at: `django_unicorn/views/action_parsers/utils.py`. You can observe the functionality is responsible for modifying a property value of an object. The propert...

This new report from Cisco Talos Incident Response explores how threat actors increasingly deployed web shells against vulnerable web applications, and exploited vulnerable or unpatched public-facing applications to gain initial access.
While Microsoft has boosted the security of Windows Print Spooler in the three years since the disclosure of the PrintNightmare vulnerability, the service remains a spooky threat that organizations cannot afford to ignore.
