Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6214-1

Ubuntu Security Notice 6214-1 - Multiple security issues were discovered in Thunderbird. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted website in a browsing context, an attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service, obtain sensitive information, bypass security restrictions, cross-site tracing, or execute arbitrary code. P Umar Farooq discovered that Thunderbird did not properly provide warning when opening Diagcab files. If a user were tricked into opening a malicious Diagcab file, an attacker could execute arbitrary code.

Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6212-1

Ubuntu Security Notice 6212-1 - Hangyu Hua discovered that the Flower classifier implementation in the Linux kernel contained an out-of-bounds write vulnerability. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that for some Intel processors the INVLPG instruction implementation did not properly flush global TLB entries when PCIDs are enabled. An attacker could use this to expose sensitive information or possibly cause undesired behaviors.

CVE-2022-31810

A vulnerability has been identified in SiPass integrated (All versions < V2.90.3.8). Affected server applications improperly check the size of data packets received for the configuration client login, causing a stack-based buffer overflow. This could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the server application, creating a denial of service condition.

CVE-2023-35336: Windows MSHTML Platform Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability

**What kind of security feature could be bypassed by successfully exploiting this vulnerability?** A security feature bypass vulnerability exists when the MSHTML platform fails to validate the correct Security Zone of requests for specific URLs. This could allow an attacker to cause a user to access a URL in a less restricted Internet Security Zone than intended. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker could email or otherwise provide a specially crafted URL to a victim and convince them to click on it. The security update addresses the vulnerability by correcting security feature behavior to properly map affected URLs to the correct Security Zone.
