Ubuntu Security Notice 5598-1 - It was discovered that the virtual terminal driver in the Linux kernel did not properly handle VGA console font changes, leading to an out-of-bounds write. A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
Ransomware in particular poses a major threat, but security vendors say there has been an increase in Linux-targeted cryptojacking, malware, and vulnerability exploits as well, and defenders need to be ready.

The Portmeirion project is a collaboration between Microsoft Research Cambridge, Microsoft Security Response Center, and Azure Silicon Engineering & Solutions. Over the past year, we have been exploring how to scale the key ideas from CHERI down to tiny cores on the scale of the cheapest microcontrollers. These cores are very different from the desktop and server-class processors that have been the focus of the Morello project.
Ubuntu Security Notice 5595-1 - Asaf Modelevsky discovered that the Intel 10GbE PCI Express Ethernet driver for the Linux kernel performed insufficient control flow management. A local attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of service. It was discovered that the virtual terminal driver in the Linux kernel did not properly handle VGA console font changes, leading to an out-of-bounds write. A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
Ubuntu Security Notice 5591-4 - It was discovered that the virtual terminal driver in the Linux kernel did not properly handle VGA console font changes, leading to an out-of-bounds write. A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
Having a better understanding of how clouds are built, connected, and managed helps organizations mitigate risks and reduce attack surfaces.
Attacker might be able to execute malicious Perl code in the Template toolkit, by having the admin installing an unverified 3th party package
Server-side JavaScript injection in Appsmith through 1.7.14 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code from the server via the currentItem property of the list widget, e.g., to perform DoS attacks or achieve an information leak.
### Impact The `pool-upgrade` request handler in Indy-Node `<=1.12.4` allows an improperly authenticated attacker to remotely execute code on nodes within the network. Network operators are strongly encouraged to upgrade to the latest Indy-Node release `>=1.12.5` as soon as possible. ### Patches The `pool-upgrade` request handler in Indy-Node `>=1.12.5` has been updated to properly authenticate `pool-upgrade` transactions before any processing is performed by the request handler. The transactions are further sanitized to prevent remote code execution. ### Mitigations Network operators are strongly encouraged to upgrade to the latest Indy-Node release `>=1.12.5` as soon as possible. ### Acknowledgements Thank you to @shakreiner at CyberArk Labs for finding and responsibly disclosing this issue.
