Ubuntu Security Notice 6871-1 - It was discovered that the ATA over Ethernet driver in the Linux kernel contained a race condition, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that the Atheros 802.11ac wireless driver did not properly validate certain data structures, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. An attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of service.

Ubuntu Security Notice 6857-1 - Joshua Rogers discovered that Squid incorrectly handled requests with the urn: scheme. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Squid to consume resources, leading to a denial of service. This issue only affected Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. It was discovered that Squid incorrectly handled SSPI and SMB authentication. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause Squid to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly obtain sensitive information. This issue only affected Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. Chenyuan Yang discovered that the RDS Protocol implementation in the Linux kernel contained an out-of-bounds read vulnerability. An attacker could use this to possibly cause a denial of service.

The high-severity CVE-2024-5806 allows cyberattackers to authenticate to the file-transfer platform as any valid user, with accompanying privileges.

Russian organizations have been targeted by a cybercrime gang called ExCobalt using a previously unknown Golang-based backdoor known as GoRed.
