OpenAI's latest tech can reason better than its previous models could, but not well enough to ferret out careful social engineering.
While President Trump supported federal space efforts during his first administration, the addition of SpaceX chief Elon Musk to his circle likely means challenges for regulating spacecraft cybersecurity, experts say.
CISA and the FDA are warning that Contec CMS8000 and Epsimed MN-120 patient monitors are open to meddling and data theft; Claroty Team82 flagged the vulnerability as an avoidable insecure design issue.
### Summary The application is vulnerable to parameter injection in database connection strings, which allows an attacker to read local files on the machine the application is running on. ### Details The application uses string concatenation to build database connection URIs which are then passed to corresponding libraries responsible for setting up the database connections. This string concatenation is done unsafely and without escaping or encoding the user input. This allows an user, in many cases, to inject arbitrary parameters into the URI string. These parameters can be potentially dangerous depending on the libraries used. One of these dangerous parameters is `allowAllFiles` in the library `github.com/go-sql-driver/mysql`. Should this be set to `true`, the library enables running the `LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE` query on any file on the host machine (in this case, the machine that WhoDB is running on). A rate limiting issue in Sylius v2.0.2 allows a remote attacker to perform unrestricted brute-force attacks on user accounts, significantly increasing the risk of account compromise and denial of service for legitimate users.
The version of rtmpdump contained in this package has multiple known vulnerabilities. ### Patches This package is abandoned and should not be used anymore. There is no patched release. ### Workarounds You should install rmtpdump from another source. ### References * https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-fm48-q5qq-894j * https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-pfv7-grcx-8gcc * https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-hg4c-2mw4-gwpm
### Impact In mitmweb 11.1.0 and below, a malicious client can use mitmweb's proxy server (bound to `*:8080` by default) to access mitmweb's internal API (bound to `127.0.0.1:8081` by default). In other words, while the client cannot access the API directly (good), they can access the API through the proxy (bad). An attacker may be able to escalate this [SSRF](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server-side_request_forgery)-style access to remote code execution. The mitmproxy and mitmdump tools are unaffected. Only mitmweb is affected. The `block_global` option, which is enabled by default, blocks connections originating from publicly-routable IP addresses in the proxy. The attacker needs to be in the same local network. ### Patches The vulnerability has been fixed in mitmproxy 11.1.2 and above. ### Acknowledgements We thank Stefan Grönke (@gronke) for reporting this vulnerability as part of a security audit by [Radically Open Security](https://www.radicallyopensecurity.com/).
