### Summary A DOM Clobbering vulnerability has been discovered in `layui` that can lead to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) on web pages where attacker-controlled HTML elements (e.g., `img` tags with unsanitized `name` attributes) are present. It's worth noting that we’ve identifed similar issues in other popular client-side libraries like Webpack ([CVE-2024-43788](https://github.com/webpack/webpack/security/advisories/GHSA-4vvj-4cpr-p986)) and Vite ([CVE-2024-45812](https://github.com/vitejs/vite/security/advisories/GHSA-64vr-g452-qvp3)), which might serve as valuable references. ### Backgrounds DOM Clobbering is a type of code-reuse attack where the attacker first embeds a piece of non-script, seemingly benign HTML markups in the webpage (e.g. through a post or comment) and leverages the gadgets (pieces of js code snippet) living in the existing libraries to transform it into executable code. ### Impact This vulnerability can lead to cross-site scripting (XSS) on websites that uses ...
Many spammers have elected to attack web pages and mail servers of legitimate organizations, so they may use these “pirated” resources to send unsolicited email.

A stored cross-site scripting has been found in the image upload functionality that can be used by normal registered users: It is possible to upload a SVG image containing JavaScript and it's also possible to upload a HTML document when the format parameter is manually changed to [documents][1] or a string of an [unsupported format][2]. If an authenticated user or administrator visits that uploaded image or document malicious JavaScript can be executed on their behalf (e.g. changing or deleting content inside of the CMS.) ### Impact During a recent internal audit, a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was identified in the CKEditor 5 clipboard package. This vulnerability could be triggered by a specific user action, leading to unauthorized JavaScript code execution, if the attacker managed to insert a malicious content into the editor, which might happen with a very specific editor configuration. This vulnerability affects **only** installations where the editor configuration meets the following criteria: 1. The [**Block Toolbar**](https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5/latest/getting-started/setup/toolbar.html#block-toolbar) plugin is enabled. 1. One of the following plugins is also enabled: - [**General HTML Support**](https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5/latest/features/html/general-html-support.html) with a configuration that permits unsafe markup. - [**HTML Embed**](https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5/latest/features/html/html-embed.html). ### Patches The problem has been recognized and...
Concrete CMS versions 9 through 9.3.3 and versions below 8.5.19 are vulnerable to stored XSS in the calendar event addition feature because the calendar event name was not sanitized on output. Users or groups with permission to create event calendars can embed scripts, and users or groups with permission to modify event calendars can execute scripts.
Concrete CMS versions 9.0.0 to 9.3.3 and below 8.5.19 are vulnerable to Stored XSS in Image Editor Background Color. A rogue admin could add malicious code to the Thumbnails/Add-Type.
