A vulnerability was found in Gouniverse GoLang CMS 1.4.0. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function PageRenderHtmlByAlias of the file FrontendHandler.go. The manipulation of the argument alias leads to cross site scripting. The attack can be initiated remotely. Upgrading to version 1.4.1 is able to address this issue. The patch is identified as 3e661cdfb4beeb9fe2ad507cdb8104c0b17d072c. It is recommended to upgrade the affected component.

Overview:

The software product C-MOR is an IP video surveillance system.

The manufacturer describes the product as follows:

"With C-MOR video surveillance, it is possible to check your  
surveillance over network and the Internet. You can access the live  
view as well as previous recordings from any PC or mobile device.  
C-MOR is managed and controlled over the C-MOR web interface.  
IP settings, camera recording setup, user rights and so on are set  
over the web without the installation of any software on the  
client."[1]

Due to missing protection mechanisms, the C-MOR web interface is  
vulnerable to cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.

Vulnerability Details:

The C-MOR web interface does not offer any protection against CSRF  
attacks. These kinds of attacks force end users respectively their web  
browsers to perform unwanted actions in a web application context in  
which they are currently authenticated.

CSRF attacks specifically target state-changing requests, for example in  
order to enable or disable a feature, and not data theft, as an attacker  
usually has no possibility to see the response of the forged request.

In general, CSRF attacks are conducted with the help of the victim, for  
example by a user visiting an attacker-controlled URL sent by e-mail in  
their web browser. Often, CSRF attacks make use of cross-site scripting  
attacks, but this is not mandatory.

CSRF attacks can also be performed against a web application if a victim  
is only visiting an attacker-controlled web server. In this case, the  
attacker-controlled web server is used to generate a specially crafted  
HTTP request in the context of the user's web browser which is then sent  
to the vulnerable target web application.

Proof of Concept (PoC):

The following HTML file containing a web form generates a simple  
crafted HTTP POST request that creates a new user:

Due to improper input validation, the C-MOR web interface is vulnerable  
to persistent cross-site scripting attacks.

Vulnerability Details:

By analyzing the C-MOR web interface, it was found that the camera  
configuration is vulnerable to a persistent cross-site scripting attack  
due to insufficient user input validation.

This kind of attack enables an attacker to persistently store attack  
vectors in form of arbitrary code, for instance JavaScript code, in the  
web application database, which may be executed in the context of other  
users.

Proof of Concept (PoC):

An authenticated user can set the location of a camera. If valid  
JavaScript code is used as location value, this code will be  
persistently stored in the web application database.

The injected JavaScript code is served to users and executed in their  
web browser's context when using different functionality of the C-MOR  
web interface, for instance camera settings via "show-movies.plm" or  
system administration via "systemadministration.plm".

The following HTTPS POST request illustrates storing an attack vector  
via the parameter "location":

Vulnerability Details:

By analyzing the C-MOR web interface, it was found that different  
functions are prone to reflected cross-site scripting attacks due to  
insufficient user input validation.

This kind of attack allows an attacker to send a manipulated link to  
an authenticated victim in order to execute arbitrary JavaScript code  
in the context of the victim's web browser.

Reflected cross-site scripting vulnerabilities were found in the  
following C-MOR scripts and exploited via different URL parameters,  
for instance the parameter "ujava":

* index-de.plm  
* list-timelapse.plm  
* list-motion.plm  
* setdelays.plm  
* show-movies.plm  
* show-movies-f.plm  
* uploadcambackup.plm

Ubuntu Security Notice 6988-1 - It was discovered that Twisted incorrectly handled response order when processing multiple HTTP requests. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to delay and manipulate responses. This issue only affected Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. It was discovered that Twisted did not properly sanitize certain input. Several security issues were fixed in Twisted.

Software Description:  
- twisted: Event-based framework for internet applications

Details:

It was discovered that Twisted incorrectly handled response order when  
processing multiple HTTP requests. A remote attacker could possibly use  
this issue to delay and manipulate responses.  
This issue only affected Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. (CVE-2024-41671)

It was discovered that Twisted did not properly sanitize certain input.  
An attacker could use this vulnerability to possibly execute an HTML  
injection leading to a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack.

Tracked as CVE-2024-7261 (CVSS score: 9.8), the vulnerability has been described as a case of operating system (OS) command injection.

"The improper neutralization of special elements in the parameter 'host' in the CGI program of some AP and security router versions could allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute OS commands by sending a crafted cookie to a vulnerable device," Zyxel said in an advisory.

Chengchao Ai from the ROIS team of Fuzhou University has been credited with discovering and reporting the flaw.

Zyxel has also shipped updates for seven vulnerabilities in its routers and firewalls, including few that are high in severity, that could result in OS command execution, a denial-of-service (DoS), or access browser-based information -

*   CVE-2024-5412 (CVSS score: 7.5) - A buffer overflow vulnerability in the "libclinkc" library that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to cause DoS conditions by means of a specially crafted HTTP request

*   CVE-2024-6343 (CVSS score: 4.9) - A buffer overflow vulnerability that could allow an authenticated attacker with administrator privileges to trigger DoS conditions by means of a specially crafted HTTP request

*   CVE-2024-7203 (CVSS score: 7.2) - A post-authentication command injection vulnerability that could allow an authenticated attacker with administrator privileges to execute OS commands

*   CVE-2024-42057 (CVSS score: 8.1) - A command injection vulnerability in the IPSec VPN feature that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute some OS commands

*   CVE-2024-42058 (CVSS score: 7.5) - A null pointer dereference vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to cause DoS conditions by sending crafted packets

*   CVE-2024-42059 (CVSS score: 7.2) - A post-authentication command injection vulnerability that could allow an authenticated attacker with administrator privileges to execute some OS commands by uploading a crafted compressed language file via FTP

*   CVE-2024-42060 (CVSS score: 7.2) - A post-authentication command injection vulnerability in some firewall versions could allow an authenticated attacker with administrator privileges to execute some OS commands

*   CVE-2024-42061 (CVSS score: 6.1) - A reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the CGI program "dynamic\_script.cgi" that could allow an attacker to trick a user into visiting a crafted URL with the XSS payload and obtain browser-based information

The development comes as D-Link said four security vulnerabilities affecting its DIR-846 router, counting two critical remote command execution vulnerabilities (CVE-2024-44342, CVSS score: 9.8) will not be patched owing to the products reaching end-of-life (EoL) status of February 2020, urging customers to replace them with support versions.
